Challenge is a multi-talented DJ and event curator hailing from Plettenberg Bay and now based in Cape Town. Raised in a family of music enthusiasts, he began spinning at age 23 and quickly immersed himself in Cape Town’s vibrant club scene. His passion for rhythm and melody, coupled with a charismatic stage presence, has propelled him from local gigs to some of the city’s most celebrated dance floors.
As an Afro House and Afro Tech specialist, Challenge is known for blending melodic, tribal beats with modern house grooves. He seamlessly fuses Afro House, Afro Tech, Deep House, and Tech House influences, crafting sets that satisfy the crowd’s love for familiar anthems while introducing fresh, underground sounds. Drawing inspiration from South Africa’s Gqom scene and soulful deep house, he brings heavy basslines, driving tribal drums, and unforgettable melodies to every performance.
This electrifying signature sound, and a passion for community, led him to launch AfroSanctuary. His own event series at Cape Town’s Deus Ex Machina, where he pushes creative boundaries and keeps audiences dancing till dawn.
